# Deprecation

Endpoints can be deprecated when a newer version is added; the old one eventually expires. Deprecated endpoints are marked in the API reference and announced in response headers:

Deprecation: This API endpoint is deprecated and will be removed in a future version, use a newer version.

Alert on these headers so you find out before anything breaks.

## Check endpoints v2

The Core API Check endpoints exist in a newer generation under `api/v2` (same paths, version segment `v2`). They return the modern check model and honor the `Accept-Language` header for localized product names. The `api/v1` Check endpoints are deprecated with a sunset date of 2028-09-01.
